On April 16, 2020, hosted a virtual round table discussion with a diverse group of recording engineers.

We discussed topics such the state of the recording industry, examples of how the participants have adapted to the current “stay in place” conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, audio education, and what the future may hold for engineers and our industry.

Our intent is to make these round table discussions a regular thing. We’ll cover many different topics and encourage active discussion from all of our attendees.

Joe Mattimore

Joe got interested in audio production while recording and touring as a bassist with indie-rock act Ansley Court in the 1990s. After graduating from Full Sail University, he continued building his skills at Water Music Recorders in Hoboken, NJ, learning under legendary producers Terry Manning, John Agnello, Mike Barbiero, Warren Haynes, Mark Endert, and Caleb Southern. Joe’s career branched into other mediums in the 2000s, as he got into video production and graphic design, and he earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in education from SUNY Buffalo State. He currently lives in Buffalo, NY and teaches Digital Media for Erie 1 BOCES. He is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, song writer and performer, recording and producing out of Blackrock EPS in Buffalo.
